You read that right.
The Japanese boy band Arashi’s new album is titled “untitled”. “untitled” marks Arashi’s 16th album, and will be released on the 18th of October 2017. Pre-orders for the album have already started, links are available at the bottom of the post.
Having debut for 18 years doesn’t mean that Arashi is resting on their laurels. The idols are challenging themselves and pushing into new territory with “untitled”. In this album Arashi revisits their past and investigates and highlights their incompleteness. The lead song of this album is titled “Mikan” (未完), meaning incomplete or unfinished. The song combines elements of Japan, digital, classic and Hip Hop, and promises to be a thrilling, speedy listen that showcases Arashi’s musical style as well as their current circumstances. In a first for Arashi, they have combined melodies from various genres to create a single song lasting over 10 minutes.
Three songs from previously released singles will be included – Power of the Paradise, I’ll be there, and Tsunagu.
The album comes in two versions, the regular and limited edition. The limited edition comes with 13 tracks, as well as a DVD of the music video and a making of the music video. The regular edition on the other hand, comprises of 2 CDs containing a total of 18 songs – the 13 available on the limited edition, as well as a bonus track and 4 songs by units. Both versions includes a lyrics booklet, and the artwork/album jacket on both editions are different.
