The Japanese boyband Arashi has revealed their new single “Power of the Paradise” on the live music show “The Music Day”. The show features a wide range of Japanese artists performing 11 hours of songs, and featured Arashi member Sakurai Sho as the main host.
Arashi finished off the song extravaganza with a powerful performance of three songs, “Daylight“, “I Seek“, and their un-released song “Power of the Paradise”.
“Power of Paradise” will be used as the NTV theme song for Rio Olympics 2016. The song is uplifting and powerful, and aspires to inspire and cheer on all the athletes competing on the grand, international stage.
This marks the 6th time Arashi has sang the NTV Olympics theme song, after “Hero” in 2004, “Kaze no Mukou e” in 2008, “Yurase, Ima wo” in 2010, “Akashi” in 2012, and “Road to Glory” in 2014.
Arashi’s Sakurai Sho and NewsZero caster will be covering the Rio Olympics as one of NTV’s main caster. It is his third time covering the summer Olympics, after Beijing 2008, and London 2012; together with Vancouver 2010 and Sochi 2014, Rio 2016 marks the 5th time being the Olympics main caster for NTV for Sakurai Sho.
The single release date has been announced for 14th of September! More information can be found here.
